Mahlertitan Posted February 9, 2006 Posted February 9, 2006 We came to this forum to share our compositions, we also came here to learn how to write music either from each other or by talking about great composers, I find it rather difficult however, that within this website, there isn't any extensive collections of classical works, works that members can have easy access to, to listen and to learn. I believe we need to have a big collection of music, we can achieve this in several ways, every YC can submit midi(or Mp3 if there is suffifcient room) file of works of Classical Composers, and I have no doubt in no time that we will achieve a massive and extensive collections of classical works, with the addition of a powerful musical library to this site, it will make teaching/learning much easier, when beginners can have a taste of Bach or Beethoven just by listening from the "vault" within this site. Basically, with the huge musical library, it will be easier for people who aren't familiar with other composers to have a sample at their works, I believe this will be extremely helpful for an Old Composer teaching a young composer or just anyone who wishes to enjoy some fine classical melodies. Mike Posted February 9, 2006 Posted February 9, 2006 http://www.classiccat.net/ http://www.classicalarchives.com/  We would not be able to maintain a "vault" of MP3s because it would infringe copyrights and cause our web host to kick us out. As for MIDIs, Classical Archives is your best bet. Quote
