I'm in agreement with the original post. Lets talk about music! I love Zimmer and Horner above nearly every classical composer, (so shoot me!) I respect that some people can't stand Zimmer or Horner, and I won't try to change them... As long as they don't try to change me. The musical world is a liberal one of community, friendship and a mutual love for music!

IT'S ALL ABOUT LOVIN' THE MUSIC PEOPLE! : ) lol

JWfan regardless of what anyone says of Zimmer, the Gladiators theme is just one of those themes that makes you want to sing along in operattic style at the top of your voice! I thank him for the this theme!

Oh yeah, Gladiator is wonderful. I also love the operatic style of "Crimson Tide" and even "Hannibal." One also cannot forget "The Ring."

Crimson Tide is just freaking cool. Gotta hand it to Zimmer for making nice rousing action music. That and The Rock kick major donkey. I actually made a 7-minute highlights mix of the Crimson Tide soundtrack at some point...I should make it available.

robin: where the HELL did you find that photo :O

And yes, I agree with you nikolas. But I think most people just find it difficult to understand some things and want to question them - thing is, they do it immaturely and in an online forum, which is not the best way to go... :X

;) Good ol' Google, good for so many things!

Also, regarding the topic here, I think I've made my position clear numerous times and don't feel the need to re-hash all that again.

I will say this though: We all have the freedom to say what we want. Do so in a respectful and intelligent manner without insulting or degrading anyone or anything and all is well. Any other methods will be met with "resistance". So: think before you speak, use spell-check and above all respect your fellow musicians/composers..

Again, thanks Nikolas - I'd thought of starting a thread like this, but I often come across as mildly abrasive when I have to discuss this sort of thing ;)

What was that internet saying again?

Arguing on the internet is like the Special Olympics... you may win, but you're still retarded.

Anything can pass as intelligent and respectful if prefaced with "With all due respect, I think ..."

Those phrases I dislike them when I hear them. I have never felt offended by what I have heard but hearing "No offence, but..." sounds bad, at least for me, I dislike it. It can work much better if what is arranged is the words that can offend, to say them in a better way that won't offend much(or not offend) the other person or people.

On the other hand you can easily spot offensive phrases by looking out for "No offence, but..."

Why should one have to couch everything they say with little euphemistic warnings? All that's really required is maturity on the part of both the reader and the poster.

Or perhaps every post should be prefaced by, "Oh my goodness, I may say something a teensy bit out of someone's mental comfort zone in my next few sentences."

"The following paragraph is intended to cause as much offense as possible to as many people as possible."

I though that was quite cool and snappy, my Engish teacher disagreed when I used it :whistling:

No offence, but I entirely agree with you. Nothing personal, I just feel that way, sorry.
