EldKatt Posted August 6, 2008 Posted August 6, 2008 Nobody here can help you in a legal manner.. They are both under copyright worldwide. Quote
themodernmishap Posted August 6, 2008 Author Posted August 6, 2008 really, well that sucks for me. oh well. thanks anyways. Quote
Ferkungamabooboo Posted August 6, 2008 Posted August 6, 2008 check local school and municipal libraries - often a school with a good music program will have a large collection of scores. Many often have online catalogue searches Quote
Abracadabra Posted August 7, 2008 Posted August 7, 2008 Yes, a library is your best shot. Most libraries can also do inter-library loan, so if they don't have it, they may be able to borrow it from another library for you. Libraries are a public service that allow you to legally obtain materials that are copyrighted without the need to buy them outright. ;) Quote
jujimufu Posted August 7, 2008 Posted August 7, 2008 You can wait 17 years, and then it'll be available on IMSLP! :) Libraries are a public service that allow you to legally obtain materials that are copyrighted without the need to buy them outright. ;) Really?! I thought they were little blue monsters that popped out of nowhere and caused accidents in the roads... Quote
Abracadabra Posted August 8, 2008 Posted August 8, 2008 Really?! I thought they were little blue monsters that popped out of nowhere and caused accidents in the roads... Well, they've been known to do that too. ;) I actually made the comment I made in regard to EldKatt's hardnose stance that no one here could help in a legal manner. That was clearly a blanket statement that holds no water. Moreover, it would not be illegal for someone to give away their legally purchased copy of a a copyrighted material. Perhaps someone bought the score and no longer needs it. There is no law against them giving the original document to someone else. They could mail it to him and that would be perfectly within the law. So there are quite a few ways to legally obtain copyrighted materials without having to pay for them. You just can't copy them is all. ;) Quote

Tokkemon Posted August 8, 2008 Posted August 8, 2008 Ok right. But I find that scores aren't every helpful if you can't write all over it with different colors of crayon or watercolors. Lol :D Quote
EldKatt Posted August 8, 2008 Posted August 8, 2008 I actually made the comment I made in regard to EldKatt's hardnose stance that no one here could help in a legal manner. That was clearly a blanket statement that holds no water. Yes, I could have advised him to go to the library, but I did not think of it. For this I apologize. However, questions like these tend to mean "where can I download it for free" or "can somebody send it to me, my email is X, kthx", and I think it's an important point to make that there's no way that's gonna happen, and if somebody does assist you in this way, what you're doing is not legal--whether that's what he meant or not. Hardnose? Yes. (Crap, I hate when an inconsequential post makes second page, and it makes it look like it's turning into a big argument... :D) Quote
Abracadabra Posted August 9, 2008 Posted August 9, 2008 How expensive are they anyway? If someone needs them that desperately maybe they should try to make an appeal to some sort of music consortium to see if they could fund the 'project'. Or is this just a personal desperation thing. (ha ha) The OP kind of left us in the dark as to precisely why they are needed. Quote
themodernmishap Posted August 19, 2008 Author Posted August 19, 2008 I want to learn them. Thats what i want them for. and thanks everyone for the suggestions. Quote
