derbs Posted February 21, 2006 Posted February 21, 2006 Hello young composers. I'm a fledgling composer myself with a degree in music education and I teach in public school in New Jersey. Can anyone steer me in the right direction with the best graduate composition programs in the state? Went to Montclair State University as an undergrad...with no formal lessons in composition! I have written some small works though and I am a composer at heart even if I don't have the right direction at the moment! Thanks to anyone who can offer advice or help, I appreciate it! :D Quote
chopin Posted February 21, 2006 Posted February 21, 2006 I am attending Montclair State University in New Jersey myself for my graduate degree right now (not in music). Small world! Montclair State should be a decent school for the arts, no? Although I am not involved with music at this school, I am pretty sure they have a decent music department. They have a building dedicated to the arts such as composition, piano theory, etc. Quote
