This is really about music, but it's related to my musical studies.

As of now, I'm a Music Composition major and German minor, as a complement to my major of course. However, I'm getting tired of German. A friend of mine says that I just need to stay with it before I find it enjoyable (he's a fifth year Spanish major). Is this true, or is German going to only get worse?

That's absolutely subjective and to your discretion. We can't (no one can) tell you what you're going to like, how, and when. If you like German, stick to German. If you think learning German is worth studying it even if you don't find it enjoyable at the moment (because, say, you have friends/family in Germany, or you plan on living in Germany or a german-speaking country, or you're interested in German literature or whatever), then continue doing so. If you don't enjoy German and you think you'd be better off studying something else as a minor, then re-evaluate your options and make the most effective choice - if you stick to German and you don't enjoy what you do, you'll probably never learn it as well as if you spent the same time and effort learning a language you enjoy and like, or studying another topic you feel good with.

"If you do something you don't enjoy in your life, even if you succeed you won't feel successful." - quote by an alumnus of my highschool who always loved physics and is now a researcher at the MIT (damn, I can't remember his naaameee!)

French is quite complex grammatically, but at least it's rather logical. Once you understand how it works (which indeed may take a while), it gets much easier. German (and English to some degree) however seems to consist mostly of exceptions to the rules which you have to learn for every word again. (English at least doesn't have articles.)
