SSC Posted March 24, 2009 Author Posted March 24, 2009 I think sitting down and trying to "write out" something like this is a mistake. Instead, before you get down to actually writing anything, you have to go and try to get a feel for it in practice. If you have access to the singer, do some tests, play a little. IF you don't, try improvising and figuring stuff out on the spot. What you don't want to do is over intellectualize it. Another thing is that if you're unsure about what to with certain chords or so on, try stuff out see what sticks. There's no replacement for simply trial and error when it comes to this type of music.
