the_lynx Posted September 27, 2008 Posted September 27, 2008 Hi there... :) I'm thinking about studying music in Germany or France, but because of the language, I can't get enough information. Can you help me? I want to know about a few conservatories in Germany and France... Quote
Guest QcCowboy Posted September 27, 2008 Posted September 27, 2008 If you don't speak the language enough to understand the websites or written information, then why on God's earth do you think you will be able to study in a school where they speak that very language? Quote
the_lynx Posted September 28, 2008 Author Posted September 28, 2008 Well, yeah, that's true... Haha :) I 'm thinking about attending preparatory language class for a half/ a year before entering the university/consrvatory... And I heard from my friend about CNR de Lyon in France. Do know anyone who enter this conservatory? Or do u know anything about this conservatory? Thanx a lot... Quote
nikolas Posted September 28, 2008 Posted September 28, 2008 You're probably not listening. It should take much more than 6 preparatory months to learn a language and be able to follow composition lessons. It's not piano lessons, where things are somewhat simpler in terms of language. It's orchestration, analysis, composition, etc... If you still want to research, keep in mind that most of France is deep into post-serialism and post-atonal stuff! Boulez, etc... Now if you still want to research, just see who are the professors in each conservatory and do a research on those people. "George Beuf" (for example, he is in Marsaille). Google does wonders, youtube as well and so does amazon. See who your teachers will be and try to pick the people who will work better with who YOU are, not about the fame of a conservatory or anything simmilar. Quote
