I log in on YC normally, I get the message that says I've logged in successfully, I get redirected to the forums, and it shows that I am logged in properly (I see my messages on the top-right corner), I get this error instead of the shoutbox:

[Today 1:20 PM] System Response: You do not have permission to use the shoutbox.

Now, if I click on the "Forum" link once, I get redirected to the forum page, but it shows I am logged out (and thus no shoutbox is visible), and if I click it again, it shows I'm logged in and the shoutbox is working.

I am using Mozilla Firefox 2.0.0.16 (but this also happens from Firefox 3.03 too), Microsoft Windows XP Professional, no SP's installed as far as I know.

This happens to me sometimes. I usually just sign back in and it fixes itself.

I don't need to sign back in - if I just click the "YoungComposers Music Forum" link it shows I am logged in properly (although before it showed I was logged out) and the shoutbox is working fine.

No, I haven't tried running firefox in safe mode. It could be a cookie thing, but YC is the only site where something like that happens (and in particular, just the forum and just with the shoutbox) and it does work 100% properly after I click on the link.

Have you tried clearing all cookies for youngcomposers.com? Again, having dug up the specific lines of code which determine whether a user has permission to use the shoutbox, I can't think what the problem might be, but that's really I can suggest. I'd be curious to know if anyone other than juji experiences this issue on a regular, reproducible basis.
