Tokkemon Posted December 4, 2008 Posted December 4, 2008 You do know that Berlioz, Ravel, and Debussy all give super pwnage powers to those they are dropped on, right? Why? Their French. Last I checked, they lost in against the Germans! :P (at first :ermm:) Quote

danieledwards Posted December 9, 2008 Posted December 9, 2008 Elgar Cello Concerto. I hate it. It's rubbish. And i'm a cellist, so it's apparantly a crime! Quote
robinjessome Posted December 9, 2008 Posted December 9, 2008 Elgar Cello Concerto. I hate it. It's rubbish. You hate it...but it's certainly not rubbish. Do you dislike it because you can't keep up with the second movement? ;) Quote

Qmwne235 Posted January 1, 2009 Posted January 1, 2009 Hmmm...let's see... Well, Mozart's Symphony No. 41 (Jupiter), clearly :/ (Hey, I don't hate all Mozart. 25 and 40 are quite tolerable, and I even like some of his works for piano and string quartet, so don't flame me.) Rachmaninov's C# minor prelude Stravinsky's Violin Concerto Most of the works of Schubert I've heard (some his chamber music being notable exceptions) Quote
Romanticist Posted January 1, 2009 Posted January 1, 2009 I'm a violinist and I dislike heavily most violin concertos. I cannot stand overexaggerated virtuosity..it's just bland and uninteresting. Quote
Qmwne235 Posted January 1, 2009 Posted January 1, 2009 Some of them are actually pretty good. Listen to the Berg - it's very hard, but not extremely virtuosic, in that it's not pointlessly showy. Quote

walkingwikipedia Posted January 1, 2009 Posted January 1, 2009 Hmm... Where to start? There are the obvious candidates like the Pachelbel canon, but I am assuming here that I am comparing my tastes in music to those of people with some musicality, so I'll leave such pieces alone. Right now, my pet hates: Vaughan Williams: The Lark Ascending Schubert: Symphony No. 8 (Unfinished), particularly the second movement Chopin: The Piano Concerti Tchaikovsky: 1812 Overture Rachmaninov: Symphony No. 2 Rossini: Thieving Magpie Overture Brahms: Violin Concerto All Pop Music (already said, but I agree completely) Well, it's a start. There are plenty more, and I may return to let off some more steam at a later stage. Oh, and to ANYONE who said Mahler, Shostakovich or Sibelius,:(:sadtears::angry: Quote
Tokkemon Posted January 1, 2009 Posted January 1, 2009 What is with the hating on 1812 recently?! Quote
robinjessome Posted January 1, 2009 Posted January 1, 2009 Hmm...All Pop Music Really? All of it? Why do people insist on making moronic statements like that!? Quote
