I was thinking about ways to help increase activity and to help promote this forum. I came up with an idea...and that is to use the website called Myspace. I am sure you all have heard of this site. If not, the site is basically for social networking. If you would like to help Young Composers grow, read on:

I would like you to join Myspace. After you create your account, add me as your friend. My profile is here:

My Myspace Profile

Ideally, I would like every active person on this site to be a member of myspace, and we all should be networked together. After we create our own network at myspace, I then am going to create a group called Young Composers. What I plan on doing is to have you guys "join" the group. I then would ask you guys to help me recruit more aspiring composers within Myspace, to join the group Young Composers. The more people who join this group, the more people who will then learn about this site, and join the site Young Composers.

So what do you say? Want to give it a shot? I think if we do this correctly, we can greatly increase activity and signups.

Also, I encourage those who like this site and have myspace, to add this code into your myspace profile. You don't have to, but it will help promote the site, and if you like the site, why not?

Thank you.

Any of the college/university guys use facebook? We could create a little network in there as well. I think both sites are the same concept.

http://www.facebook.com/

I'll look into this MySpace thing as well.

A little update:

I have created a Young Composers group at MySpace. Join the group today, the link is here:

Young Composers Group

Get as MANY composers to join this group, whether it is people from this site, or from MySpace. We can create our own little "Forum" at our new group just for socializing. Once we get our myspace group well known, we can drive the members of the group to this site to help increase activity and new sign ups here.

I've joined the group and started a topic. :ninja:

Hey, for anyone new who never got to hear any of the 30 some odd pieces I had posted here before I deleted all but three of them, I have about 10 of them linked on my myspace music page. Click HERE to listen and add me if you have myspace! :D

Maybe we can write all the myspace links on the first page, so we don't have to hunt them down.

Who mentioned facebook? I like that idea since I dislike myspace, at least right now. I'd at least like to add those of you who are on it to my friends list or something, or join a young composers group.

edit: ACTUALLY, I was bored and started a facebook group for the YC college crowd that belongs to facebook, so let me know how I can find you on facebook and I will invite you to join it. I made it secret by invite only for now, since I don't want people I know following me into the forum and disrupting my secret hideaway. :o
