Old Composer Posted November 19, 2008 Share Posted November 19, 2008 So on Thursday I am conducting my modified woodwind sextet, Children's Games and the Loss of Naivete. Earlier in that same concert is the premiere of my Solo for Flute. And then Sunday is the premiere of my first commission, Theme and Oscillations for Brass, Organ, and Percussion. Pretty busy week. :D I'm excited, and I hope to put videos up on YouTube sometime soon. I'm a little nervous, but I conducted the piece once already, (though I still consider this the premiere). The Brass/Organ/Percussion piece is still not quite together, but they've still got two rehearsals in the Chapel (tonight was the first time the brass/percussion and organ rehearsed together) before Sunday, so I'm feeling okay. There must be YCers nearby who would love to check out these pieces (including myself). And congrats on three premieres -- you are going to feel so HIGH (ok, granting the performers do a good job) I will be surprised to hear your slept! Old Composer Posted November 20, 2008 Author Share Posted November 20, 2008 It's at Oklahoma City University, in Oklahoma City. The first concert is Thursday at 8, the Brass piece is Sunday at 7:30.
