SSC Posted January 14, 2009 Posted January 14, 2009 Also very cool if you're into the technical stuff. PS: And of course electronic music as a whole! Quote
pliorius Posted January 14, 2009 Posted January 14, 2009 amen break is so fricking moving! we have our drum and bass radio show called 'amen brothers'. p.s. though it's rather more relevant to hip-hop, jungle than techno, of course it's a matter of definition and historical contex. Quote
Mike Posted January 14, 2009 Posted January 14, 2009 Fascinating video! I honestly had no idea this thing even had a name, letalone a rich history. All the talk regarding copyright reminded me of what Thomas Newman is quoted as saying about the Jakatta remix of his score to American Beauty: I was flattered and horrified. We don't own our own music, it's typically owned by the companies that hire you. Quote

SSC Posted January 14, 2009 Author Posted January 14, 2009 What kind of bothers me/concerns me is where all this puts music concrete ala Pierre Henry this day and age. Anyone can claim copyright over anything else, and it's really defeating the point with all this bullshit. Of course, that type of music is hardly as popular as the techno/jungle/rap/etc things showcased in the video, so they won't get as much attention. Quote
pliorius Posted January 14, 2009 Posted January 14, 2009 why music concrete is of special case? Quote
