Pharaoh Posted January 17, 2009 Posted January 17, 2009 Hello to every musician on this forum, this is my first post here and i was wondering if there is a page where you can find music related articles . I personally am interested in books/articles of ballet, film and theatre 20th century music . Any of you knows something ? Quote
jujimufu Posted January 18, 2009 Posted January 18, 2009 You can look on jstor - they have reviews of books, essays, articles on music and a lot more, ranging from ancient music to contemporary, to the physics of sound etc. Otherwise, you can check periodicals like Contemporary Music Review, or Wire, which have a lot of information. About e-books, you'll probably only find stuff that's been in public domain or released to the public, such as Rimsky-Korsakov's book on orchestration, or Alan Belkin's guides to counterpoint/form/orchestration etc. Unless you want to go into the Warez domain, which is not what this forum is about and I don't think anyone will help you on that (me neither). IMSLP has a lot of free pubic domain scores (and released to the public), if you're interested, and there is also a list on IMSLP with a lot of other websites with free music or music-related things.
