John H White Posted February 13, 2009 Posted February 13, 2009 As a newbie on this forum, I'd be very grateful if someone could kindly show me how to submit music attachments, and what is the preferred form. At present, I have a 5 movement work that I could submit either as Noteworthy, Finale or MIDI files, if only I knew how.:) Cheers, John. Quote
Dead Chicken Posted February 14, 2009 Posted February 14, 2009 For starters, Welcome! Now, This is the wrong place for this question. To post attachments, when you are creating your thread, you will see a little paperclip. Click on it and it will open a new window for you. Then browse... and yeah! The prefered form is midi/mp3 and a pdf score. mp3 however have to be put onto a hosting site like soundclick or box.net, then you just copy the link into the thread. If you don't know how to make a .pdf then here you go: http://www.youngcomposers.com/forum/converting-notation-into-pdf-mus-sib-pdf-15157.html Now, stick around, review some music, learn, have fun! John H White Posted February 14, 2009 Author Posted February 14, 2009 Many thanks for all that useful information-----I've never met a dead chicken who was so well informed as yourself!:) By the way, I'm no spring chicken myself-----I only got in on this group by telling them I'd been stuck on the same age for the past 60 years! Cheers, John. chopin Posted February 14, 2009 Posted February 14, 2009 I only got in on this group by telling them I'd been stuck on the same age for the past 60 years! Although the name of this site may be misleading if you've never heard of Young Composers before, we are trying to associate the brand "Young Composers" to "community of growing composers, who want to teach and/or learn from each other". Believe it or not, the site name is extremely important because it keeps the site exclusive to only those who are truly interested in the topic of music education, composition and performance. You know why? Because those who are really interested will research the site, and join no matter what, like you :) Those who are not that interested can't be bothered to research the site further, showing their lack of interest in this subject to begin with. It's perfect. Also, please read here: Common Misconception about Young Composers Quote
