YugureIko Posted August 5, 2005 Posted August 5, 2005 This is one of my favorite composers! i know he composes songs for games but that almost increases his genius in my eyes, at least! some may not even be familiar with his work! He has composed hundreds if not thousands of pieces of music in his life-time as thus far for the video game series final fantasy. he has also composed pieces for the vid. game series Chrono Trigger, and the entrance theme to the Anime Ah! My Goddess. and every tune seems to just stick to me! i'll find myself humming a tune of his almost anywhere at anytime! i get them stuck in my head but not in a bad way: in the best way possible! does anyone like his compositions? love dani dude Quote
YugureIko Posted August 6, 2005 Author Posted August 6, 2005 i know they don't really work outside very often but they are still extremely pleasing to the ear (especially my personal favorite: Suteki Da Ne!) another one of my favorites is Liberi Fatali!... I've never played ff7 so i haven't heard one winged angel... but Nobuo said he was sorta trying to combine Strovinski with Jimmie Hendricks ((spelling? on both names! lol!)) love dani dude Quote
Lord Sorasen Posted September 26, 2005 Posted September 26, 2005 Yes, One winged Angel is a great Song, but Dancing Mad, the FFVI boss theme, may be one of the greatest songs in existence, its just done so well, se chaotic, but so controlled. Quote
Guest Anders Posted September 26, 2005 Posted September 26, 2005 Welcome to the forums, Lord Sorasen! I advise you to listen to J.S Bach's ''Toccata And Fugue In D minor'. Some of the parts in ''Dancing Mad'' are lifted from that piece! :excl: Quote
Lord Sorasen Posted September 27, 2005 Posted September 27, 2005 Are you serious?! Naturally, my worshipism of Noubu causes my to close my ears to the statement, but I'll hear the song and see for myself. Quote
YugureIko Posted September 27, 2005 Author Posted September 27, 2005 i think you and I will be getting along quite well, Sorasen-sama! ^_^ but i'm sure Nobuo might've used other pieces for inspiration, but I'm sure he wasn't really trying to pleugerise! (spelling?) but i could never turn against this guy's addictive works! All his songs keep the final fantasy scores quite well rounded. I really like the fact that he doesn't stick to one type of music with a closed mind. He's a genius, though inspired by others! I love Uematsu-sama! love dani dude Quote
Lord Sorasen Posted September 27, 2005 Posted September 27, 2005 Ya, your probably right. I doubt Noubu would steal from another artist and not get caught. I agree, he really is varied. I love that metal song in FFX as well, its so unlike his other stuff. Quote
YugureIko Posted September 27, 2005 Author Posted September 27, 2005 Amen! lol! I loved that one! (the metal one which i think is called "Other World"!) tee hee! oh and i think i've heard a small clip of one winged angel and it sounds amazing (as usual!) Almost everyone of his works has given me goosebumps as thus far... another good one is "To Zanarkand".......... and Seymour's theme! that one was cool! I'm gonna calm down, now! lol! love dani dude Quote
Guest Anders Posted September 28, 2005 Posted September 28, 2005 but i'm sure Nobuo might've used other pieces for inspiration, but I'm sure he wasn't really trying to pleugerise! Think again! He lifted entire parts from the Toccata And Fugue In D Minor! When i say he lifted entire parts, that means he copied! Copied! Arrgh! I could have mentioned more, but i didn't want to dispell your undying love for this artist. I once was like you... Are you serious?! Naturally, my worshipism of Noubu causes my to close my ears to the statement, but I'll hear the song and see for myself. Ahem, it's a WORK. Quote
Lord Sorasen Posted September 29, 2005 Posted September 29, 2005 Wow, how did he get away with it? Wouldn't people notice, given he has concerts and everything now? And, hate to show my ametur-ness, but, I pretty much call everything a song, regardless. Or is it more than one song, in which, my wording was entirely wrong. Sorry  Quote
CaltechViolist Posted September 29, 2005 Posted September 29, 2005 No. A song is a short vocal piece. If it has no vocal part, it's not a song. Quote
Lord Sorasen Posted September 30, 2005 Posted September 30, 2005 You serious? Well, I dun' care, its still music... Their may be no words, but its the same kind of thing to me. I dunno, I call everything a song, no offense. I dunno, excuse my stupidity. Quote
Lord Sorasen Posted October 1, 2005 Posted October 1, 2005 OK, sorry for the Double post, but... WTF?! I listenned to Toccata And Fugue In D minor. They took LITTLE TINY parts from the work. It's not even the cool parts! Quote
Guest Anders Posted October 1, 2005 Posted October 1, 2005 You could say that. But other people could say that those parts are what keeps the whole thing together. It's very subjective.... PS: How can you call the toccata ''not cool''? That's ridicolous! :D Quote
Lord Sorasen Posted October 1, 2005 Posted October 1, 2005 The toccata is awesome, but, I wasn't really talking about the entire Dancing Mad, just that one part at the end, the last, I believe 4 minutes of it. And I suppose it strings it together, but, "Dancing Mad" is actually multiple songs in FFVI. Its just, to string 'em together for the MP3 version, they had to added some bridges, and, ya. Thats my theory anyway, the bridge thing. Quote
YugureIko Posted October 2, 2005 Author Posted October 2, 2005 ok, calm down! i didn't post this to start an argument! though i'm not obsessed nor in love with him... lots of songs give me goosebumps it's just his do more so than most others. but either way, all music is to die for so just please stop freaking out over this! love dani dude Quote
Lord Sorasen Posted October 2, 2005 Posted October 2, 2005 haha. Sure thing Dani. So ya, you know, theirs like, 4 versions of One Winged Angel out now. Isn't it awesome? His songs are appreciated to an extend that he can remix the same one tons of times, and their all really cool! Quote
YugureIko Posted October 2, 2005 Author Posted October 2, 2005 Wow, really? I really just wanna hear all of one winged angel for once. But that is cool... Maybe he'll remix Other World! lol.... that's stupid but the song is sweet! ^_^ Quote
Lord Sorasen Posted October 2, 2005 Posted October 2, 2005 Other World, which game is that from again? Quote
Daniel Posted October 2, 2005 Posted October 2, 2005 Welcome to the forums, Lord Sorasen!I advise you to listen to J.S Bach's ''Toccata And Fugue In D minor'. Some of the parts in ''Dancing Mad'' are lifted from that piece! angry.gif[/b] Apparently that piece isn't even written by J.S. Bach ^_^ And everyone 'borrows' from it anyway, lol. Quote
Marisa Posted October 2, 2005 Posted October 2, 2005 Apparently that piece isn't even written by J.S. Bach ^_^And everyone 'borrows' from it anyway, lol. Yeah. One time I heard on CBC an A minor version of it on solo violin that was apparently the 'true' version, written by whomever else. Heh. Quote
The Baroque Enthusiast Posted October 3, 2005 Posted October 3, 2005 Apparently that piece isn't even written by J.S. Bach ^_^ WHAAAAAT? Since when???!!! I mean I knew about the 8 Little Preludes and Fugues, but not BWV 565.... Quote
Lord Sorasen Posted October 3, 2005 Posted October 3, 2005 You know, I looked at my cellphone today, and, Toccata And Fugue In D minor is my ringtone now! We need to get back on topic now. Quote
