Agatha of the Elite Four Posted April 4, 2009 Posted April 4, 2009 there are a few things i really want to know, like what is the best computer program for ear-training? also, what is the best way to train my ear to hear notes sounding simultaneously? also, how can i improve my memory? It seems like on dictation exercises i always forget it half the time, and if it is long, well then forget it. thanx Quote
PhantomOftheOpera Posted April 4, 2009 Posted April 4, 2009 Try EarMaster, it's a great software. It basically has all that you want. Just don't try to cheat (memorize the answers), but use your ear instead. Quote

sum1 Posted April 11, 2009 Posted April 11, 2009 The better your ear is, the more you'll be able to remember. I like Musictheory.net for interval/chord/scale training. Quote
OMWBWAY Posted April 19, 2009 Posted April 19, 2009 I know of 3 different University's music programs that use MacGamut. It is compatible on Mac or PC and it's very efficient, covering everything from intervals, to melody notation, to rhythmic notation, to identifying multiple voices from 2-5+, to harmonic identification to progressions to scales to modes and....yeah, you get it. I use(d) it. Mind you, at times, it's boring, just cause it's so old and it's never needed to change, but I will definitely credit more of my theory knowledge to this and my teacher than any books I've ever had.
