Performing and Recording An Improv Piece By Me!!!!

I'm going to be playing a piece I wrote titled "dream scape", which incorporates piano and percussion, I will be recording this piece wendsday, and be performing in front of an live audience, I'm going to try to get the recording of it on here as soon as possible.

What do you mean by Improv if it is a piece that you wrote??

I Mean I Wrote The Main Idea, Pretty Much The Begining and the end are wrote out, and the middle is improv.

Does everybody improvise? Are there rules as to what can or cannot be played? Tell us about the music.. I am interested.

well it's me on piano, and my friend on drum set, with other percussive stuff, and we are going to practice together so we both have a feel for the piece then we will improvise,The piece is suppose to take you through a dream, and as you enter the dream everything is calm and surreal, but then shortly leads into a hectic nightmare with alot of augmented chords and minor-major 7ths, but after the nightmarish chords dispearses it lead back into the calm surreal dream with 7th , 9th, and 11th, chords.

im also using alot of quartal and quintal harmonies

Thnx guys, i've also been commisioned to write something for my friends church, I was thinking a slow jazz version of amazing grace for two euphoniums, horn, tuba, and drumset.

Well lets see, the performance was amazing but the recorder didn't pick it up, so we are going to try again tommarow after school.
