Ferkungamabooboo Posted May 2, 2009 Posted May 2, 2009 Hey all, My composition recital is up, but it's got to be over the summer, a bad time to find local students. Would y'all be interested in doing a internet-based performance? I'm not sure on the specifics, but I've got a few neat ideas. The list of pieces are: 2 electronic pieces: Nanda Vishnu For Guitar [*]Piano miniatures [*]Onus [*]Schoenberg Jazz [*]10tet [*]Piece for Western Gamelan If anyone's interested, please let me know ASAP. I'm thinking that some it can be pre-recorded, even in parts for the more structured pieces. I dunno. Let's talk. Quote
James H. Posted June 25, 2009 Posted June 25, 2009 Could you tell the instrumentation for nos. 3, 4, and 5 on your list? Quote
Ferkungamabooboo Posted June 26, 2009 Author Posted June 26, 2009 Could you tell the instrumentation for nos. 3, 4, and 5 on your list? Onus: Flute (Some out of range stuff might require switching to an alto flute, but it's unmarked), Bb Clarinet, Bassoon, Violin, Viola, Cello (some scordatura because of range might be needed in the strings, and either some quick hands or overdubbing is needed for one section), Horn, Bb (or C) Trumpet. While for live applications more than musicians per part might be necessary, I'm really planning to explore the role of mixing as orchestration... Or I'm just sloppy. Schoenberg is for a small jazz combo. I see great power in lack of specificity. 10-tet is 8 horns and saxes of various ranges, no drums, and 2 bassists. They're all around the upload forums. Quote
Ferkungamabooboo Posted June 26, 2009 Author Posted June 26, 2009 I'm a slop pianist, but I'd love to look at your piano miniatures. I want to get my hands on some music written today :). Go for it :) Though, it is highly "modern" and not very "contemporary" if you catch my drift. I'm game for anything... The biggest thing I'd want done is the Schoenberg Jazz (which needs an infinitely better name), since I don't think a small combo can be done piecemeal like the others... But that requires a lot of work on your end. Thanks, thanks thanks! Quote
James H. Posted June 28, 2009 Posted June 28, 2009 I'd be willing to contribute to the Schony thing, but I don't quite understand it. I posted in its thread. Quote
