Guest Posted May 10, 2009 Posted May 10, 2009 I was looking at this piece (SONG 10) by Schumann and I have trouble finding out what the phrase diagram could be. I found a A B A A including a intro and an a section B including an b c A' is a' and e but I know this can not be right. I feel like my phrases just aren't right. ABC maybe? I'm not sure, any ideas? Gardener Posted May 11, 2009 Posted May 11, 2009 You should be a lot more precise there. A simple list of letters isn't enough. At least give some actual measure numbers. Also, try giving a reasoning for why you think that a new section begins at some point, how this section differs from the last. And when you say a section returns (by designating it with the same letter), try giving a reason for why you think so. We could have a look at it and toss out some letters, but that would be of little use to you. Such letters are only ever useful if you can explain what they mean. There are often many different ways of analysing a piece, none of which is necessarily the "correct" one - it depends on how you justify your solution. If you want help with your homework, you should at least put some effort in your question :P Quote
Guest Posted April 10, 2010 Posted April 10, 2010 Yes, true. I assumed you somehow could see into my head, or at my marked up score. It wasn't so much help with my 'homework' but just a confirmation of what I found. Quote
