variousmusik Posted June 30, 2009 Posted June 30, 2009 Clint Mansell - Lux Aeterna: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CjWHlKAsBNA That song was part of the movie called "Requiem for a Dream". Since it comes from a movie, is it a film score (orchestral) genre or simply classical genre? What do you think? Thanks. Quote
Max Castillo Posted June 30, 2009 Posted June 30, 2009 Both I guess but "film music" would be more correct. Quote
Old Composer Posted June 30, 2009 Posted June 30, 2009 It's kind of a crossbreed between traditional art music and film music. (I think that's what you mean). It's not 'classical' because 'classical' denotates a style of writing within a certain time period. As far as the piece goes I can see it either way. It's certainly got minimal movement and development (so thats more the 'film' style) but I think the inclusion of the Kronos Quartet and the way the piece is handled gives it a more 'art music' vibe. I would classify it more as film I suppose. Quote
