smalltime3 Posted July 2, 2009 Posted July 2, 2009 I am just wondering... If you had a piano and a trumpet, and about 2-3 minutes, could you write a piece of music concerto style that cam make somebody laugh, perhaps a silly rythm, jazzy and informal... lets see what you can come up with!!! MHWA!
healey.cj Posted July 3, 2009 Posted July 3, 2009 Does Flugelhorn count? Then it's already been done: Clark Terry does "Mumbles" on LEGENDS OF JAZZ Enjoy :-) What do I win?

robinjessome Posted July 3, 2009 Posted July 3, 2009 Comedy through the music is difficult...perhaps incorporating familiar themes in strange settings.... but then, it's more amusing than funny... Try more visual or theatrical comedy...slapstick....alongside the music: Lindberg/P
Henk Vogel Posted July 3, 2009 Posted July 3, 2009 Yeah! I was waiting long times for this, a 'find the best vid-competition'! :P
smalltime3 Posted July 3, 2009 Author Posted July 3, 2009 Yeah! I was waiting long times for this, a 'find the best vid-competition'! :P That is a good statement, The challenge here is to compose your own piece in such a way that it makes you giggle,
Gamma Posted July 15, 2009 Posted July 15, 2009 Victor Borge plays Hungarian Rhapsody No.2 I wouldn't say the music is funny but the performers make it funny.
M. Bulteau Posted July 15, 2009 Posted July 15, 2009 Victor Borge - Mozart Opera Victor Borge - History of the piano I laughed so much, I choked. xD
shpena Posted July 16, 2009 Posted July 16, 2009 I laughed quite hard. Tears came out. Borge is genius!

TITLE GOES HEREWhere: "videoidtag" is everything the in youtube url after the "v=" . i.e. ...youtube.com/watch?v=ogEtfIdgjpY <---- "ogEtfIdgjpY" ...
MaestroMarvel Posted July 16, 2009 Posted July 16, 2009 I don't write much, but I love the work of Victor Borge. When I'm playing the piano for my friends at school, I flip keys from major to minor. "The Entertainer" becomes "The Undertaker". lol I also do that thing where you play the music upside down, and I've done the Page-turner routine. Victor Borge was brilliant.
Jimmyjuicin Posted July 16, 2009 Posted July 16, 2009 These Guys are amazing. They're soooooo funny!!!!!
Ravels Radical Rivalry Posted July 16, 2009 Posted July 16, 2009 I have seen those guys too. I love them. However, one of my long time favorites by far is P.D.Q. Bach (Peter Scheikle). This is just sort of a little video that will give you an idea of the routine that Peter does about P.D.Q. It is hilarious. I will get you some of my other favorites later.
robinjessome Posted July 17, 2009 Posted July 17, 2009 Tim Minchin - F sharp I can't imagine how hard that must be!!
