musicman02 Posted July 7, 2009 Posted July 7, 2009 As last month's was, this month's composition is late, so the deadline will be August 6. This month's competition will be to write a solo for a harpsicord, as the winner of last month's composition has chosen, with optional piano accompaniment. Each composition must be at least 73 measures long, and no more that 153. There are really not many guidelines, so have fun with this. Submissions will be due on August 6, and the winners will be announced at an undetermined date, depending on how many people enter. Each composition must be at least 73 measures in length. No composition shall exceed 153 measures in length. A PDF file of each sumbission is required. An audio file of each sumbission must be included. Acceptable formats include MIDI, MP3, WAV, or other formats that are playable on a standard Windows PC. All sumbissions must be e-mailed to internetphilharmonic@yahoo.com by no later than AUGUST 6TH. Any relevent questions can be PMed to me and will be answered in a timely fashion.
impresario Posted July 7, 2009 Posted July 7, 2009 Ooh, harpsichord solos are lovely, can't wait for entries :]
Bachian Posted July 7, 2009 Posted July 7, 2009 There's already a July Competition for Solo Instrument. For Solo Instrument in the Octatonic scale.
James H. Posted July 8, 2009 Posted July 8, 2009 So umm... wait, we're having TWO July competitions? We already have a July solo competition. We can only have one monthly competition. http://www.youngcomposers.com/forum/july-competition-20752.html _____________________________________________ Edit: :excl:This thread has been renamed to "Harpsichord Solo Competition" and moved to the Competitions forum, as a Monthly Competition was already announced in the appropriate forum on time.
James H. Posted July 8, 2009 Posted July 8, 2009 You will... concourse? I am assuming your understanding of English is failing you here... "concourse" is a noun, not a verb. You perhaps mean to say instead "join" or "participate". ;)
Jimmyjuicin Posted July 13, 2009 Posted July 13, 2009 I'm in. In fact, I'm emailing it to you now. PM me if you do not receive it within the next few days please :-)
Jimmyjuicin Posted August 5, 2009 Posted August 5, 2009 Due Date is tomorrow i believe. Can we have some sort of set date now for when judging will be finished? based on how many pieces have been entered
