Thought it might prove interesting for some of you: Plucked from Nowhere ----- The Alvarez Chamber Orchestra is holding a competition for composers of any age and nationality to submit works for Harp and Chamber Orchestra. There is no specification as to the length or nature of the work, or the number of works submitted. Each work should have a pseudonym printed on the cover, and the identity of the composer, including address, email, phone number, biography, photograph and programme notes in a sealed envelope. The closing date for scores is August 15th, 2009. STOP PRESS: The competition jury are not meeting at the Royal Academy of Music until the 10th of September, 2009, so the deadline for score submission has been extended until 1st of September, 2009. The maximum size of the orchestra is as follows: 2.1.1.1./2.1.1.1/harp/perc1/3.3.2.2.1. The entry fee is Quote
