Yes- I am as well....

For me it just says "file too large".... and one of my files was only... like 15 thingies long or shorter....

What does it want, 1 letter??

I've tried this file:http://www.psdgraphics.com/file/glowing-world-map-background-1280x960.jpg

I want to use that file but it says it is too big :(

HAHAHA....

(obviously you figured it out, but still)

SIZE doesn't relate to the length of the filename it's the dimensions and filesize of the image. In your case, you were trying to use an image with dimensions of 1280 x 960 pixels and a size of 224KB ... where the limits on avatars are 100 x 100 pixels and 19.5KB.

ANYWAY...

Whatever the original problem for me was, it's fixed.

That inspired me to change my own avatar - but I get the same error message. I tried jpg and gif so far, both below 100x100px and 19.5KB. So you don't know what fixed the problem for you? It just suddenly worked?

Yah, I tried it a day later, and voila!!

wow everybody is changing the avatar ...... what is that ? ..... a new flu ?

I changed mine a few weeks ago (but only the colors)

I have to get used to your new "faces" ....... but just don't change the user names too or we're all going to lose the track of each other and who are we talking to. ..... (and I kinda recall that's against the rules ....)

Its against the rules to change your username? o.O

No...but we've put a limit on the frequency one can change their username....basically, you get one freebie name change.

Freebie as in from, like (just as a silly example.. all I could think of) Water to Air? Or just any change, like from Heckelphone99 to Heckelphone224?

NOOOOO, and here i was going to get my name changed back to ''Z'' just to get hysterical about it and change it back later. Devilhounds upon you, Robin!

You're a special case, and the "one username change" rule came into effect with the new CoC. SO, in spite of your 14 previous name changes, you can still have one more.....use it wisely. ;)

More like the Water to Air example. Minor adjustments depend on the circumstances. The point of this policy is mainly to reduce confusion from user names changing all the time. Whether someone is called Hecklephone or Heckelphone is less important, but ultimately it comes down to admin/mod discretion whether something is perceived as a name change or just a small adjustment.

Heckelphone99 to Heckelphone224?

Well there is already a member called just heckelphone (in case you want to remove the number), he's a guy who actually plays and owns a heckelphone but he doesn't come here frequently, ... I think his name is Frank .... i'm not sure

99 to 224 .... what's next ? ....

in 2028 I might changed to SYS129 (SYS33-SYS65-SYS129)

in 2002 I started customizing my winXP so much that I created a folder for my system files and I named it system33 because it was next to system32 (the real system path) .... so now 64bits technology exists, .. changed to 65
