No, it's not very original or crazy at all... Stockhausen did this, well, a LOT. So did Cage and many other 20th Century composers.. there's nothing original or crazy about this style of writing.

I once wrote a choir piece in Fbb. Turned out pretty crappy, but I still like the idea.

In a world where people have written quartets for 4 helicopters,

someone wrote a quartet for helicopters or someone wrote a quartet for strings in helicopters? i googled it and only the strings in helicopters came up.

if there really is a quartet for helicopters, that is f***ing awesome, and who wrote it?

Karlheinz Stockhausen did that he was trying to simulate the helicopters sound with a string quartet.

Nah, Stockhausen's helicopter quartet is what Tom_Lynch said: Strings in helicopters. Actually, he wanted it to be played in a space shuttle, but NASA rejected it, so he settled for helicopters.

Fbb? Come on. There's no reason anyone should ever choose to write a piece in even Fb unless you modulate to it, and even then I might just go to E. Fbb is just being silly.

Only if you pressurize the auditorium, then depressurize it rapidly at the end.

Let's get some violence.

I only thought as far into it as controlling the temperature of the auditorium, not the pressurization, before I abandoned the idea.
