Ferkungamabooboo Posted September 15, 2009 Posted September 15, 2009 All valid points. More to the point, notation is what it needs to be. Sometimes scores such as "Apple - Dump Truck - Big Penis" (one actually used for my band) are enough to jog the memory; other times strict notation is necessary because it's for unrelated groups. Plus, you can't deny that there's more than the beginnings of a culture of graphic notation... certain concepts are taken as givens, unless otherwise noted. Doubleplus, one could accentuate the composer-performer-audience dynamic by messing with that information flow regarding notation. Quote
Yasamune Posted September 16, 2009 Posted September 16, 2009 I guess I'm talking out of my donkey. But with traditional notation you can't get the kind of things you can get with the newer forms of notation such as visuals, so on and so forth. So in some ways, its not as direct as modern notation. Yea I think I'm talking out my donkey. damn it-brain farts suck :( Quote
Ferkungamabooboo Posted September 17, 2009 Posted September 17, 2009 What about traditional notation that's impossible to read? Quote
