Muzic Posted October 25, 2009 Posted October 25, 2009 A couple weeks ago in my voice lessons my teacher discovered that can sing countertenor, which is kinda cool :). I am having trouble finding arias and songs for countertenor, it would be great if I could get some suggestions!? Thanks! Quote
Tokkemon Posted October 25, 2009 Posted October 25, 2009 All the alto arias from Messiah are awesome! "O Thou that Tellest" is one of my favorites. Quote
Christopher Dunn-Rankin Posted October 25, 2009 Posted October 25, 2009 "Ombra mai fu" is occasionally sung by countertenors. Arias from Britten's "A Midsummer Night's Dream" - since Oberon's a countertenor role. I've heard "Voi che sapete" sung by a countertenor. It's pretty good that way. Quote
composerorganist Posted January 22, 2010 Posted January 22, 2010 My goodness there are a TON of countertenor pieces from Handel, Bach and other baroque era composers. I think in particular the Bach Cantata BWV 22 could be sung by countertenor. Quote
