Andy1044 Posted November 10, 2009 Posted November 10, 2009 For those of you who know who Brian is, or are remotely interested in one of the most talented composers in Hollywood, check this out: YouTube - KPCS - Ep. 31 with Brian Tyler It starts about 15 minutes in. This man makes everybody, (academic composers, film composers, rock stars, session musicians, etc.) look like they're not doing enough with their lives. This is an awe inspiring interview and definitely worth a watch. Quote
Nirvana69 Posted November 10, 2009 Posted November 10, 2009 While he certainly has done a lot with his life, I can't be very impressed when he's scoring mostly extraordinarily bad movies and churning out entirely average hollywood fare. But if you want to link something that shows his actual talent then go right ahead. Quote
Andy1044 Posted November 10, 2009 Author Posted November 10, 2009 Much of his earlier stuff, before he started getting overly temp tracked, is quite good. Check out 4 Dogs Playing Poker, Frailty, and The Final Cut, to name a few. Eagle Eye was also a great action score. Quote
Weca Posted November 12, 2009 Posted November 12, 2009 he's scoring mostly extraordinarily bad movies. Yeah, easily among the most eye-gougingly terrible films of the past few years, but his scores are beautiful. Apologies for reminding you this movie existed Sure it's obvious what they told him to rip off (Elfman's Batman), but it's a pretty decent ripoff. You take the work you can get... then one day one of his movies will score higher than 35% on RottenTomatoes and he'll get noticed ;) Quote
