laneykeys Posted November 11, 2009 Posted November 11, 2009 Hi guys I'm having trouble writing my own piano sonata in the style of Clementi. Do you have any tips on how I can start this successfully? Thanks Quote
YC26 Posted November 11, 2009 Posted November 11, 2009 Be Clementi. Study Clementi scores/ theory within his music... look for stylistic nuances... Idk. Sounds boring. Quote
siwi Posted November 12, 2009 Posted November 12, 2009 Simply put: not really. This is mostly because we encourage writing in one's own style rather than mere pastiche. Unless you aim is to understand and theorise Clementi's compositional methods, I suggest you put your efforts towards cultivating more personal music. Quote
