John Axon Posted July 29, 2010 Posted July 29, 2010 Alright Tuskle, I subscribed to the RSS feed of Plussion. I hope it's awesome. -John Edit How's the game going? Any video opportunities for us soon? -John
Madman3123 Posted August 10, 2010 Posted August 10, 2010 Just an update of sorts, any music on this showcase is available to be used for free in a game http://www.showcaseyourmusic.com/MckennaDaniel ... And what happened to the video of game footage?
xrsbit Posted August 10, 2010 Posted August 10, 2010 Is it too late to submit? I have a nice ragtime piece that I composed as game music. (Got the idea from the dark level in earthworm jim, if anybody remembers that game.)
xrsbit Posted August 11, 2010 Posted August 11, 2010 You know what, I'm pretty this is still open for submissions. So here is my piece: http://www.youngcomposers.com/pg/Music/Ian/composition?entry=49623 hopefully this game becomes a huge success and rockets YC and the composers here to fame. That would be awesome...
John Axon Posted August 12, 2010 Posted August 12, 2010 It twould, it twould. But first, let's just hope it gets finished :P -John
Tuskle Posted August 17, 2010 Author Posted August 17, 2010 Whew... ... we had a considerable amount of difficulties of all kinds during the last month, but we're not resigning yet. Besides motivation downs and things like that we had to re-structure the majority of the code. That is one awful lot of work, if you know what I mean. During the last weekend we could finally pick up previous tasks again. Also we've shortened the content of the VS game mode by quite a bit, so that we can be more confident about the completion of the whole thing... Game development sounds so enticing at first, but people keep telling you that it's not just a cakewalk. I kind a experienced what they were all talking about ;] Talk to you soon
John Axon Posted August 21, 2010 Posted August 21, 2010 As long as something gets done, I'll be happy. -John
doctormusic Posted September 4, 2010 Posted September 4, 2010 What about Anno Domination? http://www.youngcomposers.com/pg/Music/doctormusic/composition?entry=33943
Tuskle Posted October 14, 2010 Author Posted October 14, 2010 Hellolo! Some of you might have noticed that we have established a small forum with our last update. As stated in the forum our 0.9 release is soon to be expected. We mainly focused on getting those last changes done so that our basic shape is more or less finished. From 0.9 to 1.0 release there's a list of minor changes that is yet to be performed. That includes implementation of background music, so I will soon pick the tracks that will make it into the final game, but 0.9 has currently priority ;] That basically means that you will soon have a playable version of Plussion - not a perfectly balanced one, to say the least, but the rough shape will be there for everyone who likes to enjoy it. As soon as the 0.9 is finished it shouldn't really take long until 1.0... Here's the forum, if you feel like talking ;] http://athurm.obscurus-caligo.de/phpBB3/index.php We didn't really promote that a lot, so don't expect too much activity before 0.9 release. Talk to you soon!
Tuskle Posted October 30, 2010 Author Posted October 30, 2010 Let's hope you're eager to see it :] We're as good as finished, i will have a playable beta by tomorrow and if everything is alright, then I will share it by the start of the new week. I'm sorry I came up with the empty promise that you will see screenshots or a video, but the process itself had topmost priority and I'm happy with the outcome.
Tuskle Posted October 30, 2010 Author Posted October 30, 2010 Well, as providing screenshots isn't really that much work... I have no clue what you might expect, but this is what it actually really looks like ;] This is what the single player looks like, largest grid size: This would be the Local Versus, smallest grid size:
Madman3123 Posted October 30, 2010 Posted October 30, 2010 Just an update from when I last posted in this thread. I would recommend listening to the tracks labelled under game music. you can find my music here http://www.showcaseyourmusic.com/MckennaDaniel but if you can use it and don't want to hop through tracks go here:
Tuskle Posted November 14, 2010 Author Posted November 14, 2010 I'll gather the tracks of this thread soon. Let's hope everyone's still around...
