Christopher Dunn-Rankin Posted September 1, 2006 Author Posted September 1, 2006 Yep, I've been singing with both the John Alexander Singers and Pacific Chorale for several years now. I'm really glad to hear you enjoy our work. That's great - I was in the Pacific Chorale Children's Chorus back when that was still around, and I probably saw you if you did maybe a workshop on Beethoven's 9th Symphony with the Pacific Symphony and Carl St. Clair, maybe a month ago? I didn't do a workshop, but we performed the piece recently to close our final season in Segerstrom Hall. We're now preparing for the debut performance in the new hall across the street. Should be a hum-dinger, though the Glass piece is a disappointment. Quote
calcium+vitamin_D Posted September 4, 2006 Posted September 4, 2006 If anyone doesn't like Ligeti, try his cello sonata on for size. It is one of the most impressive and melodic cello pieces I have heard recently. He obviously got something correct when he composed this piece. Quote
Christopher Dunn-Rankin Posted September 9, 2006 Author Posted September 9, 2006 I just heard his Concert romanesc. Great horn concerto. Quote
