I'm looking for music theory/composition teacher. I am comfortable with the basics of theory (keys, intervals, etc....things I learned while playing violin basically), but I'm looking for reinforcement as well as a more in depth knowledge. Besides the theory I would also like to learn some compositional techniques, and how to implement them in a composition. I apologize if this is a lot of information to teach me. I was told that most teachers ask for a fee on this site, but I cannot pay you...sorry. Still, I hope that someone here can tutor me in the things I wish to learn. If you need anymore information I'll be happy to give it.

I don't mean to nag but I hope that someone can help me out here. I'm planning on entering a competition in the fall and therefore I want to strengthen my compositional/theory knowledge. Thanks in advanced! (and bump)

You aren't receiving proper exposure because this really doesn't belong in the Announcements and Technical Problems forum. Moved to Composer's Headquarters.

okay thanks. I orginally went into the lessons thread, but the links to the requesting system were broken, and I was told to post in the announcements thread. Thanks for the help!

If need be I can always help.

It might actually help me refresh my own theory knowledge.

Wow that was fast! Thanks again Chopin!

Plutokat-I'm not sure what to ask. hm...well I guessI should give what i'm hoping to learn. As I said before I'm planning on entering a competition this fall. I have a base knowledge of some theory, but I don't think I'm completely ready for this contest, and therfore I would like to strenthen both my theory and compositional skills. I'm not sure how to describe where I am at in either area...I have one submitted composition on this site (it's very basic and not technically demanding at all) if that would help to convey where I am skill wise. I just want to make sure that you would be able to teach me what I need to know (not to sound arrogant).
