NYU Steinhardt?

Hi,

Has anyone heard anything good/bad/ugly about the music comp program at NYU Steinhardt? I'll be visiting there in a few weeks so I want to go prepared. Basically anything you know/have heard would be helpful. I know Justin, for one, lives in NY.

My girlfriend goes to NYU and is considering a major transfer to Steinhardt. From what I've heard, its like your typical non-conservatory urban music school. The thing you gotta keep in mind is that there is little help from the faculty in getting stuff done. If you want to get it done, you gotta do it yourself, which is much like New York anyway, so its not unusual for this city. But its a quality school, just not Juilliard. I'd say its a good alternative, but is it worth the price tag? Meh... that depends on if you're rich enough.
