french horner Posted June 13, 2006 Posted June 13, 2006 Obviously, French horn. I also play enough piano to write for it but I'm not a great pianist (actually quite a horrible one). Quote
Jared Posted June 13, 2006 Posted June 13, 2006 I also sing tenor, with a range from low Ab to high C (on good days - on bad days my range is only to a Bb). How high is that high C? High C above the staff for tenors (C in the staff for sopranos?). My main instrument is saxophone, played for around 6 years now. I play alto the most, though I've had experience playing tenor in jazz band one year, baritone in band for two years, and soprano for solos. Currently, I play strictly alto in our schools jazz band. I also play french horn (7-8 months), trumpet (1 year, though I really need to work on it). I play french horn during concert season at my high school. I am a percussionist as well, and play snare drum during marching band, can play bass drum as well. Also, I'm an intermediate mallet percussionist. Quote
Pudj Posted June 13, 2006 Posted June 13, 2006 Piano-horrible at it/4years Clarinet-pretty good/3 years violin-okay/3 months saxophone-okay/4 months I play the violin and saxophone by ear. I can't take lessons with them. The piano, I've taken for 4 years and I still can't play. I'd say I play the clarinet the best out of any of them. My favorite instrument is the violin though. Quote

Only a few people are allowed to touch it, though. The strings break far too often for any real use, but it has been used in performances. Quote

spirit_of_music Posted June 21, 2006 Posted June 21, 2006 Adler, I think! I don't know if you will have heard of it over in America or wherever you live... I don't think it's a massively good make, but it's not a rubbish beginners model either... Quote

I also play piano (grade 8) and violin (grade 7 exam next week argh!) Mine's worth £8,048.75 from the kind people at Howarths. I have a Moosmann 200, though I am thinking of getting (in about 5 years...) a custom built one direct from Moosmann. http://www.b-moosmann.de/e/f200.htm General rule with GBP to USD is to double it, and it's close enough...
