chopin Posted June 3, 2010 Posted June 3, 2010 I am just trying to think of a creative way to package upload space with a service. Depending on your answers, we may package hosting & advertising services with upload space for subscribers. The incentive to go with YC for hosting would be: 1. Upload space increases 2. Your support for YC 3. You receive OUR support :) 4. We could offer web design (a one time cost for the design) 5. We could advertise your site throughout the forum and network depending on which monthly package a customer pays for. The advertising package would only be allowed if you have a music site. We would essentially replace Google adsense with ads from our network of YC websites. Quote
FatKidsLikeCake Posted June 3, 2010 Posted June 3, 2010 3. You receive OUR support :) Isn't that incentive to not do this? 1 Quote
Tokkemon Posted June 3, 2010 Posted June 3, 2010 With all due respect, I'd rather not have YC's support when it comes to web design or hosting. Quote
Apple Charlie Posted June 3, 2010 Posted June 3, 2010 I've got my MySpace page though I reiterate Tokke's comments, I would more likely design my own website when I get to that point. Quote
James H. Posted June 10, 2010 Posted June 10, 2010 Me personally - no, I wouldn't participate even if I did bring my little personal site up to date. BUT I can see where you are going with this - there are a few members that I know have sites that might be interested so I'll refrain from voting. Most of the people that have a site will already have it designed, I don't see the point in offering webdesign even if you did have the means. I know Rienzi has that MusicDNA/TeamComposer site, you could ask him. Quote
OmarSanchez Posted June 10, 2010 Posted June 10, 2010 Sounds like a great idea, but as far as web design, I can do that myself. for hosting and stuff for my music site, right now I put not, but perhaps in the future. I also would not like "ads" on my site even if its YC sites. I don't even put google adsense on my sites for money, because ads make sites look ugly. Quote
robinjessome Posted June 10, 2010 Posted June 10, 2010 ... I don't even put google adsense on my sites...because ads make sites look ugly. Anyone else see the hypocrisy there? (No, I won't sign your petition...although, your gigantic ad is indeed ugly ;) ) 1 Quote
OmarSanchez Posted June 10, 2010 Posted June 10, 2010 It technically is not an ad since its not for monetary purposes. Quote
Tokkemon Posted June 10, 2010 Posted June 10, 2010 It technically is not an ad since its not for monetary purposes. It IS an advertisement because it advertises something. Read up: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Advertising Quote
J. Lee Graham Posted June 11, 2010 Posted June 11, 2010 What an interesting idea... Here's my suck-*ss website, if you can call it that: Lee's Suck-*ss Website I've had this silliness up for quite some time...I just can't figure out what I want to do with it. No huge surprise there - half the time I can't decide what I want for supper. Given some time to mull it, this might be the answer I've been looking for, if you decide to go through with it. Quote
helanmacc21 Posted July 22, 2010 Posted July 22, 2010 I'm just trying to own a new website. In future, i would upload all the videos, music, gallery as soon as possible. Quote
