J. Lee Graham Posted June 5, 2010 Posted June 5, 2010 I was watching an episode of the old documentary series "World At War" a few days ago, and during a montage depicting the British preparations for war prior to the Blitz, the background music consisted of a truly marvelous arrangement of Chopin's "Military" Polonaise as a march for military band! Does anyone (particularly you Brits) know of this arrangement - have you heard it, seen it? - and who might have done it so masterfully and imaginatively? It worked marvelously well! Quote
J. Lee Graham Posted June 8, 2010 Author Posted June 8, 2010 Here's a link to the first 16 measures (with repeat) of my arrangement of what I thought I heard: Marche Militaire for Band on "Military" Polonaise Op 40 by Chopin Quote
Tokkemon Posted June 14, 2010 Posted June 14, 2010 Is there a link to the documentary available? Quote
J. Lee Graham Posted June 14, 2010 Author Posted June 14, 2010 Wow! It's on YouTube: The polonaise-to-march arrangement starts at about 8:20 into the clip. This is what I was trying to emulate. Quote
