The Composer Posted June 8, 2010 Posted June 8, 2010 Hey everyone! I am so excited that im auditioning to Berklee college in a month from now! Do anyone attend berklee, or have anyone ever been to the audition to help me know what to expect from it! I'll be taking up Film scoring! Thanks Quote
J. Lee Graham Posted June 8, 2010 Posted June 8, 2010 My husband/partner (who is an amazing rock/r&b guitarist) has many friends/colleagues who are alumni of Berklee. The competition can be fierce, but you'll find yourself in the company of many amazing musicians - particularly in the rock and jazz world. Good luck with your auditions. Wish I could tell you more. All I know for sure is that his friend/colleagues are as wonderful people as they are musicians! Quote
The J Posted June 8, 2010 Posted June 8, 2010 i've been there 10 years ago, but i was in the jazz department. i can tell you that the sound department there is simply one of the best in the world, although i haven't actually been there, they have the most advanced equipment in the market, stuff only really big and very rich studios can afford, so you'll be studying with that! apart from that, its very high level there, alot of the cannons in there already can teach there, and the competition is fierce if you are a competitive type like me, there are tons of people there, from all over the world. alot of them are thinking too amateurish, since their folks have lots of cash to spend and little effort on their behalf. but just going around listening to rehearsel or other people stuff will get you the best learning experience. the lessons there are like any other school which is professional but with high class names. i auditioned twice for there and got only partial scholarship, you really have to amaze them, its kinda sad story since they offered me almost full scholarship in composition while i wanted jazz majoring, and what i'm doing now is composing-serves me right for not knowing what i want...anyyyway, don't know if all this blabber helped. you're in for exciting times, ready your pocket money, kiss all your savings goodbye and enjoy.
