spc1st Posted August 18, 2005 Posted August 18, 2005 If you record your MIDI track-by-track into Audio, you should be able to get as many as instruments as you want (no longer being limited by the 16-channels and such).
Guest Anders Posted August 18, 2005 Posted August 18, 2005 You be in, you be! :) Soo, anyone started yet? Instrumentation?
celticdemon714 Posted August 19, 2005 Posted August 19, 2005 I'll give this a shot. Sign me up as a contestant please.
Guest Anders Posted August 19, 2005 Posted August 19, 2005 Ok, remember to read the first post thoroughly! PS: I added a poll.
The Baroque Enthusiast Posted August 23, 2005 Posted August 23, 2005 So hows everybody's work coming along so far? I haven't had much time to write yet, but I have all my ideas in order.
crazy voyager Posted August 23, 2005 Posted August 23, 2005 I can be a judge if you need one (might be a bit diffrent from basket ball reffing but still :( )
Chewie33 Posted August 23, 2005 Posted August 23, 2005 Oooo Sweet! Is it okay if join or is it too late?
Wolf_88 Posted August 23, 2005 Posted August 23, 2005 I don't think it's too late but you'll have to wait for Letehn (the moderator) to sign you in. He's been pretty inactive lately.....
Wolf_88 Posted August 26, 2005 Posted August 26, 2005 Chewie33 and Daniel, i think you should start composing, and wait till Letehn (the one who opend the competition) goes online and signs you in.
spc1st Posted August 26, 2005 Posted August 26, 2005 Yeh, I'm assuming that anyone can freely join - just make sure you get your piece done by the deadline.
The Baroque Enthusiast Posted August 26, 2005 Posted August 26, 2005 Are we allowed to do maybe a suite of pieces? I've got a french overture coming along, and I was thinking I might as well add a few quick movements to complete the suite. Is that allowed? :P
chopin Posted August 27, 2005 Posted August 27, 2005 Anyone can join, just make sure its done by the deadline :D
Guest Anders Posted August 28, 2005 Posted August 28, 2005 I am back! :D New contestants and judges have been added!
Wolf_88 Posted August 30, 2005 Posted August 30, 2005 Hey Letehn.... I wanted to ask you how will the judges be deciding the winner? Is everyone going to pick a favorite? or maybe point based (ex. best 3 points, second 2, third best 1...)?
The Baroque Enthusiast Posted August 30, 2005 Posted August 30, 2005 Yea, thats what I was thinking: we should have a list of specific criteria that the pieces will be judged on.
Guest Anders Posted August 30, 2005 Posted August 30, 2005 I will post a list of criteria when the submission date aproaches. What i can tell you now is that this will be judged based on quality, not quantity (A 5:00 long composition will be judged the same way as a 1:00 composition). PS: But.. If the piece is shorter than 1:00, you'll get a penalty. :ninja:
crazy voyager Posted August 30, 2005 Posted August 30, 2005 perhaps we should have a list too, judges and competitiors, and rules
Guest Anders Posted August 30, 2005 Posted August 30, 2005 What? Please clarify! What list? The rules are in the first post! :ninja:
