Dear All,

I do apologise if this is not considered a suitable topic for posting. I thought information about this concert would be relevant to a community focused on new compositions by young composers.

2010 is the 70th anniversary of the Battle of Britain, a decisive air campaign which began to turn the tide of World War II. This is the inspiration for around 20 young, British composers between the ages of 14 and 20, alongside established composers Cyril Lloyd and Nicholas Paul Simpson. They have all written brand new works which will receive their world premieres, performed by an orchestra of young musicians. This will take place at a very special event at St Clement Danes, on London's Strand on 14 September 2010 at 6.00pm.

This is a not-for-profit concert, for which the proceeds will be donated to the RAF Benevolent Fund, RAF Association and Battle of Britain Fighter Association. Electronic ticketing is available through at http://www.youngcomposersconcert.org.uk, and a limited number of tickets will be available on the door.

This event represents a heartfelt response by young musicians to the sacrifice of “The Few”, and celebrates the artistic freedom that is possible as a result. More details are available from http://www.youngcomposersconcert.org.uk.

Kind Regards,

Nick Simpson.
