jawoodruff Posted August 27, 2010 Author Posted August 27, 2010 Preferably, Central Time. However, I will be lenient and allow the entries to be posted by that persons time zone. I'll most likely adjudicate within 2 days of the entry deadline. So... if you submit after the deadline above... like a day or two.. then I might consider them.
JeremyL Posted August 29, 2010 Posted August 29, 2010 Can I take out my entry and substitute it for another?
Apple Charlie Posted August 30, 2010 Posted August 30, 2010 You can remove my name from the list. I have been working 38 hour weeks (normally its 24) all month which I can't complain about because its good pay. Does mean I did not get anywhere with my entry though which I am disappointed about.
composerorganist Posted August 31, 2010 Posted August 31, 2010 Egad finally finished it. here is my entry - go to the first post: http://forum.youngcomposers.com/t26934/two-nocturnes-for-jason-draft-of-first/#entry352245 August 31 - Go to the last post, rebarred it and added a little bit of music
JeremyL Posted August 31, 2010 Posted August 31, 2010 http://forum.youngcomposers.com/t27181/a-petite-waltz-for-jason/ There's my new one. :D
last life Posted August 31, 2010 Posted August 31, 2010 There they are, attached to this post. Still too difficult, probably, but I think with a little practice you could do it. I can add fingerings if you need (if it wins). edit: it sounds better if you change the second to last note in the left hand to an F# Etenraku.pdf Etenraku.mp3 MP3 Play / pause JavaScript is required. 0:00 0:00 volume > next menu Etenraku > next PDF Etenraku
CheeseLord Posted August 31, 2010 Posted August 31, 2010 Hehe, just popping in to say I've seen some really sweet pieces around :D , and good luck to everyone participating!!
TheWannabeChopin Posted August 31, 2010 Posted August 31, 2010 Really sorry, recording equipment went bang! However, have got the score if anyone's interested. :) Prelude Part 1_merged.pdf PDF Prelude Part 1_merged
jawoodruff Posted September 2, 2010 Author Posted September 2, 2010 Deadline has passed and adjudication has begun. Thanks to all who entered. Results will be posted as soon as calculated.
TheWannabeChopin Posted September 5, 2010 Posted September 5, 2010 Thaks so much Roy! I used the demo version of sibelius and so I have no recording software at all. I was going to record them in school but I didn't manage to. Thanks mso much!
Alex Posted September 7, 2010 Posted September 7, 2010 Sorry Jason. I totally spaced about my competition piece. I managed to somehow get writer's block within the first 15 bars. Soooo. Yeah. My bad.
jawoodruff Posted September 10, 2010 Author Posted September 10, 2010 ATTENTION! ATTENTION! I want to thank all of the competitors for the many entries received for this competition! The final tally of scores was very, very close. So close, in fact, that I am forced to choose two entrants (both tallied only 1 point apart!) First Place (#1): SergeofArniVillage First Place (#2): Composerorganist As promised, I will be recording this work! Will both of you please provide me a copy of the score (you can upload to box.net or the forum here). Also, I would like any performance notes stated so that I can record your work according to your specifications! Again, thanks to all who participated! I will be sponsoring another competition of this type soon... so please stay tuned!
composerorganist Posted September 10, 2010 Posted September 10, 2010 Jason - I'll post you the final most revised version this evening. Don't worry I made very very tiny changes in a few spots - a little extra pedaling, two tiny dynamic changes, and a tie added to one note. Thanks for the votes everyone. Congrats Serge!
JeremyL Posted September 10, 2010 Posted September 10, 2010 Congrats to the both of you! Do the rest of us get to know our placings? Lol.
jawoodruff Posted September 10, 2010 Author Posted September 10, 2010 Just send me a message and I will post your placings as well as the comments of the judges.
last life Posted September 10, 2010 Posted September 10, 2010 I very much liked composerorganist's piece, I really think it deserved to win! Very happy about the result. Now to listen to SergeOfArniVillage's piece until I get it...
