NickKmet Posted August 5, 2010 Posted August 5, 2010 I'm currently working on a piece that has presented me with an interesting problem. Is there a correct way to notate an 8th note triplet so that it will begin on the "and" of a beat, or the up beat? Or is that even possible? Thanks. Quote
Peter_W. Posted August 5, 2010 Posted August 5, 2010 Yeah. It's odd to start a triplet on an upbeat, but I wouldn't be too terribly shocked at seeing it. Just write an eighth rest before your triplet begins (different from the photo posted above). Anything's possible, dude. Quote

NickKmet Posted August 6, 2010 Author Posted August 6, 2010 Thanks guys. I guess I'll just make it syncopated like suggested. It's a fairly slow piece, which is why i should be able to get away with it. Thanks for the help. Quote
