Guest John Pax Posted October 19, 2010 Posted October 19, 2010 so I changed my avatar, or profile picture in my profile and its not showing up on the forum, but I cant find anywhere to change my forum avatar? I thought they were the same thing.... is this a bug? or am I just not smart enough to figure it out? It was like that on the last version of the website too. Quote
Guest John Pax Posted October 22, 2010 Posted October 22, 2010 I go to listen to an uploaded piece logged in. I click the link on the thread, am redirected and then asked to log in. I do so but now am redirected and asked to confirm my email address. I don't try to listen to the piece. Quote
jawoodruff Posted October 22, 2010 Posted October 22, 2010 NEW ISSUE: http://forum.youngcomposers.com/t27916/violin-sonata-in-a-major-op-3/page__pid__358377__st__0entry358377 Ananth's piece is a multi-movement work. He was having difficulty uploading the midi files. I asked him to email them to me - and attempted to upload them for him. I checked the make movement owner box to upload multiple movements and then clicked edit movements. Instead of taking me to the page where you edit your movements... it redirected me to the homepage! This really needs fixed ASAP! Quote
Guest John Pax Posted October 25, 2010 Posted October 25, 2010 A new PM shows up as a notification on the home page but as a little pm icon over my name on the forums. Quote
Guest John Pax Posted October 25, 2010 Posted October 25, 2010 When someone uploads a piece to the network there tends to be two links for it on the relevant forum thread. Quote
Guest John Pax Posted October 25, 2010 Posted October 25, 2010 When I like a piece it shows up in "My Playlist" rather than "Liked compositions"... come on.. Quote
hopper Posted October 25, 2010 Posted October 25, 2010 When searching from the main search bar on the homepage (i.e. the one that points to http://www.youngcomposers.com/mod/directory/search.php), all the result links are missing an initial slash between youngcomposers.com and profile. For example: http://www.youngcomposers.comprofile/music/deathraider/composition?entry=30965 Should actually be: http://www.youngcomposers.com/profile/music/deathraider/composition?entry=30965 Quote
Ananth Balijepalli Posted October 25, 2010 Posted October 25, 2010 I still cannot upload new multi-movement music. Quote
jawoodruff Posted October 25, 2010 Posted October 25, 2010 Yes, we are working on the issue. Please be patient. 1 Quote
jawoodruff Posted October 28, 2010 Posted October 28, 2010 I still cannot upload new multi-movement music. This has been fixed now! Thanks for being patient. Quote
jawoodruff Posted October 28, 2010 Posted October 28, 2010 Ok, so... Angela wanted to upload the mp3 for her third movement onto the network. She was having problems doing it so I tried to do it. It redirected me to her profile page and in the top left hand corner it says No data Added - this after I checked make movement owner and then edit movements. She originally had this as a single movement work - perhaps that is the problem? Quote

Guest John Pax Posted October 29, 2010 Posted October 29, 2010 Check your notifications mate! :P New problem. Views/plays of a piece update on the pieces page, however not on our list of pieces. Quote
Ferkungamabooboo Posted October 30, 2010 Posted October 30, 2010 Safari 5 Mac OS 10.6.latest Shoutbox width extends to edge of sceen instead of within the layout. Quote
Peter_W. Posted October 31, 2010 Author Posted October 31, 2010 THANK you for finally fixing the "left side of the screen" sidescroll issue. Got a new one. I'm not the only one experiencing it. When one posts a local link to an upload or an upload thread, it gets redirected to the homepage. What is going on? Quote
bob stole my cookie Posted November 1, 2010 Posted November 1, 2010 Uhh. My tabs are displaced but it only happened in the last few days... maybe while I was away. Was anything changed with the template? Quote
jawoodruff Posted November 1, 2010 Posted November 1, 2010 Uhh. My tabs are displaced but it only happened in the last few days... maybe while I was away. Was anything changed with the template? Yes, if you notice there is now a search box up there. I like the addition of it BUT I don't like how it offsets the tabs... looks very messy. Quote
bob stole my cookie Posted November 1, 2010 Posted November 1, 2010 scraggy! I never noticed it! Am I the only one with the displaced tabs? EDIT: Ah. It seems it's chrome that doesn't like the new layout. Quote
SYS65 Posted November 4, 2010 Posted November 4, 2010 Can't upload I click "upload composition" then I'm taken to that page. It was the same thing weeks ago when I tried to test the very recent new site, seems that whatever is the problem, it remains. This happens with IE8, Firefox, and Chrome. EDIT: see in the window state it says "Done" Quote
jawoodruff Posted November 4, 2010 Posted November 4, 2010 You know what's odd. I get that on every webpage I go to - I never thought about it. Is it just a YC bug? Quote
Tokkemon Posted November 4, 2010 Posted November 4, 2010 The "Done" in the status bar just means the page was finished loading in the browser. Those markers are a remnant from the old days when connections were not very fast and the speed of loading the page was of interest to the user. Now, not so much, which is why most browsers offer an option to hide it. Quote
SYS65 Posted November 5, 2010 Posted November 5, 2010 the upload stuff should appear in the empty center area no ? well I have never seen it. But why so drastic, no even an error or overlaped things, no just nothing at all ? and in 3 different browsers ? what do i have to check in my system ? everything looks fine. Quote
Guest John Pax Posted November 5, 2010 Posted November 5, 2010 You cannot delete a piece of music you've uploaded, only the thread. It still remains in your music list. Seriously.. 1 Quote
Tokkemon Posted November 5, 2010 Posted November 5, 2010 Wow really? That's bad. I didn't even notice that. Another potentially extreme bug: Any threads created in the forum, regardless of visibility by members will show up on the creater's profile. i.e. When a mod creates a private thread in the mod forum, it still shows up in the network in full view of everyone to see what was said. I lol'd when I saw some of the stuff there. Quote
