Mitchell Posted October 11, 2010 Posted October 11, 2010 Well, the first time I clicked on "Log in" I would get directed to a page that had all of my friends status updates. The next time nothing happened. Then the next time the screen layout changed. Then, the 4th time I finally got logged in. Bad, eh? EDIT: And now, when I click on a forum, I get this: Warning: mysql_connect() [function.mysql-connect]: Access denied for user 'youngdatabase'@'localhost' (using password: YES) in /home/ycforum/public_html/cache/skin_cache/cacheid_4/skin_forum.php on line 103 Error connecting: You might've fix it by now, but switch the theme to YC Classic. jrcramer Posted October 11, 2010 Posted October 11, 2010 one of my pieces disappeared !!!! I second this, but without the colors :) When I look in my profile to 'My Music' it is not complete. For example http://www.youngcomposers.com/profile/music/jrcramer/composition?entry=53714 is missing, the forum topic itself is still there, and the title is searchable. But it is somehow not registered as a composition by me? Quote
SYS65 Posted October 11, 2010 Posted October 11, 2010 "My Music" list contains movements as independent pieces, for instance my op.12 is name "The Warrior of the Iron Mountains" well, that name doesn't appear on the list, instead appears "1 Mysterious Midnight" "2 Prove of Combat" "3 Archaic Visions" "4 Art Creatures" "5 The Battle of the Super-Troops" as they would be different works, (this wasn't like that yesterday) I click one of those liked names and doesn't take me to the music page, only kinda reloads the same page but now with the list empty. The same happens in IE8 and Firefox 3.6 Quote
Silva Posted October 12, 2010 Posted October 12, 2010 Like button appears don't work. And, yes, the movements of a work appears as independent pieces. Quote
bob stole my cookie Posted October 13, 2010 Posted October 13, 2010 While I love the addition of a Wiki button, it only appears on the forum subdomain  Quote
Peter_W. Posted October 13, 2010 Author Posted October 13, 2010 Ahem. So, the side-scroll bar issue I and Tokke mentioned toward the beginning of the thread has been addressed, but not fixed. There is a side-scroll bar sometimes, but it does not scroll LEFT into the side of the screen that has been cut off. So for all practical purposes, the issue has not been solved. Quote
Guest John Pax Posted October 13, 2010 Posted October 13, 2010 When you "like" a composition, it appears under "my playlist" rather than "liked compositions". I, for one, would like the distinction between pieces I'd "like" and pieces i'd favorite (and I assume, added to my playlist like with the old site). Quote

There is no "favorite's" any longer, we have depreciated that for the "like" function instead. So each time you "like" something, it goes into your playlist. I feel this is a much cleaner method, and kills two birds with one stone (by voting for a piece, and adding to your playlist at the same time). This cuts 2 functions into one, and simplicity was what I was aiming for. Quote

What can we put in our playlist that isn't in our liked pieces list? Quote
robinjessome Posted October 13, 2010 Posted October 13, 2010 I would like the option of "liking" something, but not having it on my "playlist". I can give something an appreciative nod, without wanting it as a favorite on my playlist.... 1 Quote
Guest John Pax Posted October 14, 2010 Posted October 14, 2010 Apparently the edit piece function is not working. Quote

jrcramer Posted October 15, 2010 Posted October 15, 2010 This is no bug, more a request. So feel free to ignore :) Can you disable the possiblity to upload MUS SIB NWC etc, basically formats other than PDF. I really hate to say time and again when I can't read a SIB file having no Sibelius, and for those other that can't read MUS as they have no Finale. Maybe its ugly to enforce PDF this way; but would be so much preferred... Quote
HeckelphoneNYC Posted October 15, 2010 Posted October 15, 2010 You might've fix it by now, but switch the theme to YC Classic. I am on it. And I still have the trouble, in the exact same order... Friends status updates, nothing, color change, then logged in. Quote

SYS65 Posted October 16, 2010 Posted October 16, 2010 I had not tested the uploading in this new site until now, and wooops  doesn't work for me, I tried to upload something and after clicking "upload composition" took me to a page similar to any current work but with the center part empty, nothing related with uploading... The URL was this: http://www.youngcomposers.com/profile/music/SYS65/new is it complete ? Using, Firefox 3.6 on Win7x64 Quote
Guest John Pax Posted October 18, 2010 Posted October 18, 2010 When you comment on a piece on the users page rather than on the forum, paragraph spaces don't transfer over to the thread and when you edit the forum post to add then in, smilies screw up. Quote
Guest John Pax Posted October 18, 2010 Posted October 18, 2010 When you make the browser window smaller and scroll most of the icons/links in the header have collapsed on top of each other/stuffed up - rather than just being the site normally and you scroll across it. Edit: Like the bar the links are on, the picture/"signed in as X" Quote
James H. Posted October 18, 2010 Posted October 18, 2010 There have been so many threads on this topic and I haven't been around much lately, I hope this is the right place. Notifications info pic is displaced horizontal (look near the Sign Out button) Quote
HeckelphoneNYC Posted October 18, 2010 Posted October 18, 2010 The logging in problem is gone. But sometimes, the site takes forever to load, then it will just sit there and do nothing. Quote
ZachV Posted October 19, 2010 Posted October 19, 2010 so I changed my avatar, or profile picture in my profile and its not showing up on the forum, but I cant find anywhere to change my forum avatar? I thought they were the same thing.... is this a bug? or am I just not smart enough to figure it out? Quote
