Nightscape Posted August 21, 2005 Posted August 21, 2005 These are some recordings of me playing. Tell me what you think! These were recorded on varying dates under various conditions (and pianos!) Rachmaninoff - Prelude in D, op.23 no.4 Ravel - Valses nobles et sentimentales Ricketson - Three Waltzes Quote
J. Lee Graham Posted August 21, 2005 Posted August 21, 2005 Oh man... OK. How to say this without going over-the-top... Alright, what the hell...I listened to the Rachmaninov, and ya made me cry. And that's a really good thing in my book. ;) I'll listen to the others when I think I can stand it. You're a very fine pianist. I find it heartening, and not a little miraculous, to hear such refined yet not overwrought technique, such mature emotion...yet such elegant, almost exquisite restraint - all in one very talented young musician. It gives an older, often cynical person like me, heartsick at the world, hope for the future. That was a little over the top, but I don't care. :) Thanks for sharing that. Quote
Nightscape Posted August 21, 2005 Author Posted August 21, 2005 Thanks, J. Lee. That's really nice to hear from another person. Although I'm afraid you may be a bit disappointed in the other two - I recording them a while back and they aren't quite up to the standard of the Rachmaninoff. Quote
