Peter_W. Posted January 18, 2011 Posted January 18, 2011 How do you do it? Format the paper to print to flip-folder-size sheet music? Thanks. -P Quote
Black Orpheus Posted January 18, 2011 Posted January 18, 2011 I'm not sure what you mean... I've never heard of flip-folder-size. Do you know specifically what size that is? Quote
Peter_W. Posted January 18, 2011 Author Posted January 18, 2011 No I don't, unfortunately. You've never seen a flip folder??? It's like a double-up print, top down (as opposed to side-side). Most charts only take up one of those pages (so half a sheet). Don't know what I'm talking about? Quote
Black Orpheus Posted January 18, 2011 Posted January 18, 2011 Don't know what I'm talking about? I have a vague idea. Is this for marching band? You could always create a custom score or page size if you figure out exactly what size you need (Document > Page Format). Quote
Tokkemon Posted January 18, 2011 Posted January 18, 2011 Talking about these thingies? My guess would be 1/2 a page or 8 1/2 by 5 1/2. Quote
Peter_W. Posted January 21, 2011 Author Posted January 21, 2011 Yeah, those things. I was told quarter page in landscape. ...that seems almost right, but not quite. =\ Hmm... Quote
ChsBt0ne Posted January 21, 2011 Posted January 21, 2011 The official Finale blog would seem to have an answer. Quote
Peter_W. Posted January 22, 2011 Author Posted January 22, 2011 You are an officer and a gentleman. And a genius. THANK you. :santa: Quote
Peter_W. Posted January 22, 2011 Author Posted January 22, 2011 Alright, I have my answer. Sort of. And have a new problem. [iGNORE THIS NEXT PART UNLESS YOU WANT TO HEAR A BUNCH OF TECHNICAL GARBAGE ABOUT SETTING PAGE SIZES] In "Part Creation Preferences", you set the "Page format for parts" to the "Octava" size which is 6.75 by 10.5. Or at the document setup you load the "marching band template." You can then print the file in landscape. If you print to file with a pdf creator, you have a perfectly sized part. If you print 2 pages per sheet instead in portrait, then you can easily print on a regular piece of 8 1/2 by 11. But only one part can be printed per sheet. [/TECHNICAL GARBAGE] What I've done is printed all of these to file, so I have PDFs of each part in the correct size. So my NEW problem is that I can't figure out how to print TWO copies of one part onto one sheet of paper. I can get one onto a piece of paper into a half-sheet, but my printer (and primoPDF, for that matter) won't put additional copies onto the same sheet of paper. Any ideas??? Maybe Cutepdf does it?
