I just have a question or potentially a suggestion.

I almost posed the following topic about homeschooling in the "off-topic" forum:

I wonder if there are concert bands for homeschooled children. There probably are, but probably not enough of them. I wonder if they have a hard time getting into judged events. Or maybe homeschooled kids are permitted to go to local schools to join their bands. Actually, I bet that's the more likely. Does anyone here have experience with this?

But I realized it wasn't actually off-topic, entirely. Is there or could there be a particular forum for discussion general music stuff outside of purely composition? I like to gab about band and conventions and master classes and stuff but don't know where to post it, usually since the smaller forums are so specialized that they don't garner a lot of overall discussion. I bet a lot of people got into composition because of similar topics so there'd be plenty to talk about!

But is the topic listed here off-topic?

Material posted in Off Topic doesn't necessarily have to be entirely off topic, perhaps just not able to fit anywhere else comfortably.

Feel free to post what you originally intended in Off Topic. Or, I can move this thread there for you.

oh okay, I just thought I'd ask first, that's good to know, thanks. You don't have to move it, I'll just start a new topic so it has a better title
