hornplayer153 Posted June 27, 2006 Posted June 27, 2006 I have just started to write songs for concert band a couple of months ago, and I'm working on my third piece now, but it seems like everything I write kind of sounds the same... I was wondering if anyone had any suggestions for a way to get out of the rut of writing the same kind of stuff? Quote
Tumababa Posted June 27, 2006 Posted June 27, 2006 The George Castanza approach worked great for me! Whatever your instinct is.. do the opposite. If you want to go up, go down. Instead of louder, go softer. Instead of chords in sixths and fourths, use sevenths and seconds. You know what I mean? Quote
