I'm writing a piece in which I've set up a texture wherein individual accented forte notes stick out of a mezzopiano texture and I've got to a bit where the individual notes are becoming multiple consecutive notes that are slurred together. However, I want to get across that they are to be played with exactly the same type of dynamic and intensity as the earlier indiviual notes, but it seems strange/wrong to put a whole lot of accents on a passage of slurred notes, as accents usually imply re-articulated attacks don't they? Any ideas? PDF attached

As a wind player, if I saw a short slurred passage with multiple accents, I would give breath accents rather than tongued ones (in a longer section of music I would think of the slur as a phrase rather than a single breath and just tongue the accents). The result is probably going to sound muddy. So, I would say write a note telling the players specifically what you want or don't use a slur when you have multiple accents in a row. It looks odd anyway.

you could use a sfortzando, or just change the dynamic to f or ff as that would jump out of the texture enough without an accent being necessary.
