Good luck with your blog. My suggestion if you are striving for a broader audience, particularly with non-musicians would be to start off with examples of music from more well-known and accessible composers. With that as a foundation, you can use that to introduce other, less well-known composers (to the general public at least) like Reich.

I will add your blog to the blogroll on my own (In The Mists). Generally, this is all commendably concise, but be careful of trying to explain several quite complex concepts at once. It might be an idea to flip the concept of this post around and look at a single compositional technique through several works rather than one work via several different techniques. Later on you can link back to the explanations of concepts when discussing works.

Thanks siwi - an excellent point. I realize the information is very dense. Considering your comment, in later posts, I would focus on one compositional technique mentioned in my first blog post. As time goes by the reader can refer back to the post that discussed the application of several concepts to gain a better understanding of application of several techniques.
