Hello YC'ers,

As you might have read I had been thinking about a YC youtube channel.

I made up my mind and this is what I came up with:

Name:

YoungComposersTube (http://www.youtube.com/user/YoungComposersTube)

Goal:

The goal of the channel is to benefit from eachother. This will eventualy lead to more exposure for each individuel composer.

How do we benefit:

1. Everytime a viewer who has seen one of our video's clicks the channel buttom the will be confronted with the compositions by other composers. This might be you..

2. When somebody subscribes to the channel they will be notified about everybodys music that is uploaded from that point on. This might also be you..

3.When somebody someboby is interested in one of the composers behind the video's then can click the Youngcomposers.com link and come in contact with the forum and the composers on it. It has the potential to get more traffic to the site. This can be fellow composers interested in joining the community, but also people who are interested in new music form a hobby-inspired point of view or a bussiness-inspired point of view. The channel can be the 'channel' from where 'fans' can be a bigger part of the site.

How to achieve the goal:

The more video's are on the channel the bigger the chances of exposure are. There will, however, be a quality-check, but it won't be to harsh (I will come back to this).

Submitting video's:

1. I have a video I want to upload to YoungComposersTube.

Ok, great! Mail it to be by using www.wetransfer.com. Email adres: youngcomposerstube@hotmail.com

2. I have a piece I would like to upload, but no video.

Ok, still great! There are two options:

- You make your video yourself.

You will need a video editingsoftware. I use Corel VideoStudio pro x4 and sometimes Pinnacle Studio 14. There are numerous others and for making a fairly simple video they will probebly all to the job.

If you don't know what the subject of the video should be here are some ideas.

- A serie of photo's you have made of a trip you went on. The rule of fist should be: Would I like to see this myself.

- Are there sights in your enviroment that are interesting to people. Famous landmarks? Beautifull landscapes? Go out a make a video of it or make pictures of it.

- Live recording are also great, of course!

- Maybe there is an visual artist you are acquainted with. You can work together on this one.

- Make a jpg of your pdf-sheets and put them together with the music.

If you still don't have an idea what to use as a video sent me a PM and we will brainstorm together. Or, better yet, reply to this thread about the music you want a video for.

If you really want to upload your music, but don't want or can't make a video, you can ask me to make a video for you. Since I can't make endless amounts of video's it's preferable you make your own video. I'm willing to help ou if it is neccesary, though.

If you have one of your pieces uploaded to the channel I will make a playlist for you. This way your pieces are organized and people can explore your other compositions too if they want to.

Quality:

Everything goes as long as you own the material and it is either a video or a serie of photo's. A still picture is not acceptable. If you have something that is not a video, serie of pictures or a still picture (Ican't imaging what that could be, but just in case) let me know and I will make up my mind about it.

So:

Sent in your music and help yourself and your fellow youncomposers to more exposure!

Sidenote: All the material used for the music and video's should be 100% your own work. If there is use of someone elses copyrighted work I can't upload it.

All your works will be protected by the standard Youtube-licence.

hi,this is quite a good idea since promoting stuff is always better when grouped, gives the audience a chance to browse through and view their favourite stuff. rather than one composer with videos taking on the world with his stuff.
